A while back, my coworker’s daughter lost her first tooth and this prompted her to ask her mom a lot of questions about the tooth fairy: What was her name? What did the tooth fairy do with the teeth she collected? What was the tooth fairy’s favorite color? So my coworker wrote a letter from the tooth fairy to her daughter, printed it out and asked me to sign it for her.

Me: Why do you want me to sign it?
Coworker: She’ll recognize my handwriting if I do it and I want her to believe that it really came from the tooth fairy.
Me: Well, a fairy wouldn’t write a letter on a computer and print it out on 8.5 x 11 paper. Let me handle it! I’ll make her something special.

I gathered some information about her daughter and got to work! I hand-wrote a letter on a tiny, thin strip of vellum, rolled it up, tucked it into a hollowed out acorn and tied it fast with long grasses that I found near my home. I wanted to use natural elements to reflect what a fairy would have access to and be relative to her size.

When my colleague’s daughter found her fairy note, she was over the moon and was eager to show her friends and family the note that she got from the REAL tooth fairy.

So if there is someone in your life who appreciates a little magical whimsy every now and again, consider getting them a custom fairy note! It will come nestled in a real acorn wrapped with grasses and I will work with you to include personal details in the note — the person’s name, favorite colors, and anything else you want mentioned! Getting a note from their own personal fairy can help alleviate worries, celebrate triumphs or just bring a smile to their day.
