CARE

treat it right so it lasts a lifetime

I almost exclusively make stoneware pottery which means that my stuff pretty gosh-darn sturdy. Most of my wares are food, dishwasher and microwave safe (although handwashing is always a good thing) but there are a few exceptions:

PIECES WITH ONLY GLAZE
Food, dishwasher and microwave safe

PIECES WITH NATURAL ELEMENTS
The natural features — such as cork and wood — should not be submerged, put in the microwave or cleaned in the dishwasher
As long as those elements don’t come into contact with food, the rest of the item is food safe
Handwashing is your friend

PIECES WITH METAL ACCENTS
Items that have gold decoration or utilizes copper wire should NOT be placed in the microwave unless you like setting your microwave (and possibly your home) on fire
Foodsafe as long as the food is on the glazed bits and not the metallic parts
Handwash ONLY

BEWARE OF THERMAL SHOCK
Do not pour very hot liquid (boiling or near boiling) into a cold vessel because there is a chance it will crack
